5 reasons why you will love Costa Rica

In a couple of days it will be exactly 3 years since we first landed to Costa Rica.

Our adventure started on a far far away Island of Bali that was our home for many years.

Traveling across the world, changing 5 planes and numerous time zones, we arrived to San José. It was already night time, kid and I were super jet lagged in the van that drove us for the next 6 hours until we reached Playa Azul for a 3 week Family reunion.

Actually, some of the roads were so bumpy and dark that I thought something was totally off, but I also was too tired to panic.

After waking up the first day, it all made sense. We arrived to paradise. Breathtaking landscapes of black sand beaches, lush green jungle and perfect Pacific Ocean waves were worth of long journey.

Playa Azul was one of those hidden gems you hear about in Blue Zones National Geographic series.

March 2020 came. And the world shut down. The first months we were -like most of us- in shock, following the global events and becoming anxious about what we could and couldn’t do, our chances to go back home, how to travel in the middle of the pandemic…1000 questions buzzing in our heads all day long!

Until one day, we just started to accepting it.

Instead of focusing on how/when we can return, we decided to start our life here. One breath at the time…breathing in slowly, the new culture, new language, new beginning.

As the old Chinese proverb says: “ If it’s not happening by the plan, It is happening by destiny.”

There is something magical about Playa Azul. It is a perfect place to reconnect with the nature and to get nurtured. Pink Noise of Crushing waves is having incredible calming effect on the nervous system and I wanted to share this with people.

As soon as borders reopened, my holistic tailored retreats were created for everyone who needs a few moments for themselves, to rest, rejuvenate and reconnect.

On Our mission to provide a nurturing space where individuals can disconnect from daily stress, and reconnect with their bodies and minds we are keep growing as a community and individuals.

Costa Rica and its people have really been very kind to us. And that is just one of the reasons why we love it here!

Among the top 5 reasons why we love this place and we want to share it with you are:

1. Breathtaking Nature:

Costa Rica’s diverse landscapes, ranging from tropical rainforests to pristine beaches, make it a unique and breathtaking destination. The country has been recognized as a leader in ecotourism, with a focus on sustainable tourism practices that minimize the impact on the environment. This commitment to sustainability has made Costa Rica a popular destination for those seeking a mindful and eco-friendly travel experience.

2. Sunny and warm climate

Costa Rica’s warm and sunny climate provides the perfect setting for outdoor yoga practices, surfing, horseback riding or just watching sunsets all year around.

Literally, we are spending 90% of our days outside, getting daily dose of vitamin D. And it works magic for our health and mood.

3. Wildlife

According to CostaRica.org, over 30 percent of the country is dedicated to national parks, which means there are lots of places for animal populations to thrive.

And pretty much anywhere you go, there’s some wildlife to discover. There are over 500,000 species of animals, including scarlet macaws, howler monkeys, colourful butterflies, humpback whales, iguanas, sea turtles, and sloths to meet while you’re there. Not to forget, its a capital of humming birds.

4. Peaceful- no army

This year Costa Rica will celebrate 75th anniversary of the abolition of its army.

Being demilitarised for 75 years, Costa Rica saved huge funds from investing in weapons, tanks, or military training. The resources were proposed to more essential needs of the country, which are education, health and environment, and infrastructure.

5. Pura Vida life style

One of the best-known Costa Rican mottos is “Pura Vida,” which means “pure, simple life.” And Costa Ricans really take this to heart. The cultures and the people are quite diverse, but many like to live by this simple sensibility to live life to the fullest, and this is probably why the country is considered the happiest, according to the Happy Planet Index.

Stress levels are low here 🙂
